Why Join a Sorority?

Kappa Kappa Gamma and other sororities afford unique lifelong opportunities for scholarship, friendship and leadership that is member-focused and designed to address women’s developmental needs and interests.

For many, joining a Greek organization is like a family away from home during your college years. And well after graduation, Kappa will provide support via alumnae organizations and the bond you share among other sisters. It is truly an experience and opportunity of a lifetime!

Philanthropy a significant part of the membership experience. It plays out on campus, in our hometowns and around the world. We encourage members to support causes that are closest to the needs in their communities. We provide leadership and empower their social entrepreneurship to do something that matters – right where they live.

As an organization, we also partner with Reading Is Fundamental to help underserved kids discover the joy of reading and books.

But is doesn’t end there. Sometimes our own members are the ones in need, so that’s why the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, a charitable 501(c)(3) organization, was created. Whether it’s a scholarship to help a young woman complete her education or an emergency grant in a time of crisis, we help Kappas when they need it most.

Zeta Kappa also participates in other campus organizations’ philanthropic efforts, not only as a commitment to Kappa’s core values, but to uphold the bond shared within the BGSU Greek community.

Greek Housing Project ~ Coming Fall 2016

The Greek Housing Project kicked off in October 2010. It began as a series of conversations about the trends in fraternity and sorority life and housing nationally. BGSU then developed a plan to enhance the experience for the nearly 1,500 fraternity and sorority chapter members at the university.

The new Greek Village is currently under construction and is expected to be completed Fall 2016. Fraternities and sororities have the opportunity to raise funds for upgrades to their units, as well as scholarship opportunities for active members.

Zeta Kappa is excited about their new living and gathering space and “home”, and the experience it offers for members living on campus. Learn more about the project and how you can contribute to the chapter’s new house by clicking on the arrows.

Greek Village Overview

The new Greek Village will be constructed where old fraternity row previously existed (Wooster Street, Conklin units) with all chapters residing in this location. The new townhomes will be 4, 12 and 18 bed units.

Zeta Kappa House

Zeta Kappa’s townhouse will be an 18-bed, 2-story unit and feature laundry facilities, a dedicated chapter/meeting room, back patio, kitchen area, and also be handicap accessible. Meal plans can be purchased through the University with dining halls in close proximity to the houses. For more detailed information on the project, please click on the link below.

After college, lives become busy with career and family, and everyday life. Time spent at BGSU are now just memories. But, take just a moment to reflect and think about what your life would be like if it weren’t for your Kappa experience. How many lifelong friends have you made as a result of Kappa and what opportunities have you been given?

Zeta Kappa begins a new chapter in their legacy of sisterhood and leadership at BGSU in Fall 2016. You can be part of the chapter’s continued success and ensure the same Kappa experience for future members and sisters.
